Basic website $500 plus hosting
If you need a website just to convey the basics: hours of operation, location, contact information and so on, I can obtain your domain name registration (your website address), arrange reliable hosting, do the html and css programming, write basic copy, include a couple of your web-ready image files all for $400. I'll need to do some phone interviewing and look at whatever source material you have available. Hosting fees are usually about $10-15 per month. You can certainly find cheaper, but I recommend that you don't take chances and work with an established web host. This is a basic website of three or four pages. Custom designed / larger sites are more.

Custom designed website $800 and up
Websites are the most flexible of marketing tools. The possibilities are almost endless. They are limited only by our combined imagination. Your website should reflect you and all you have to offer. Depending on your marketing plan, there's so much we can do with your website. We can conduct cheap market research; post testimonials, news, events, hours, schedules, new initiatives and more; set up a media kit; set up online payments; answer frequently asked questions; set up email accounts; create tools to help screen and hire employees; start joint ventures; post coupons; set up password protected portions of your site; offer online training; and the list goes on.

Web page $100 (writing only)
If you need a generic web page written (up to 300 words), then I would be happy to take care of that for you from phone interview and/or source materials. This is straight text delivered in doc, text or pdf format. Tables, charts, graphics are extra. If you prefer to pay by the hour, then the hourly rate is $75 ($60 per hour for projects 10 hours or longer with $600 down payment).

If you need somebody to update your site with new information, images, pages, I'm happy to do that. If I've designed your site, updating and maintaining it will be fairly easy. Otherwise, I will need to look at the coding structure of the site to see if I have the right skills to maintain what you have in place. Expenses could include hosting fees if I'm taking care of that for you.

Thinking about a website, but not quite ready to move forward with it. Website addresses are disappearing by the hundreds every minute. I can lock yours in for a year for $20. If you choose to renew, each additional year is $20 (which may be adjusted if prices go up or down).

Image editing $50 per hour
Hans and I do basic graphics work – editing banners and photos, creating simple text-based logos, cropping and scaling images, screen shots, basic color enhancements and so on. An example: Take a photo of a person, remove the background clutter and superimpose that person over a new background (like a company logo or a surrealistic landscape).

Press release $200
What's better than free advertising? Publicity! While ads are always viewed with a certain amount of skepticism, editorial content in newspapers, magazines, websites carries much higher credibility. What better way to promote your business or ministry! I'll help you think through what's newsworthy and how to best present it in a format that makes sense to a busy editor. I'll be happy to work from source material or a phone interview. Revisions are no problem. $200 is good for the vast majority of 1-2 page releases. For an extra $20, I'll send the press release directly to the publication of your choice.

Sales letter $500
Direct mail or opt in email remains one of the best ways to target a well defined market. If you understand your customer and why they buy what you sell, then we can write a powerful sales letter. This will usually require phone interview time plus any source material you may have. It also really helps if I can see or experience whatever it is you are selling. For example, it's tough to write a sales letter promoting a DVD if I've never seen the DVD. I have experience promoting tangible items (books, DVDs, etc.) as well as less tangible (prayer ministry). $300 is good for a 1-2 page sales letter. I also have some experience with fund raising letters.

Resume $100
Need a resume written? I've written thousands of them. Recruiters, professional writers, even other resume writers have come to me to have their resumes written. Resumes help not only job-hunters find employment, but also establish the credibility of self employed and/or professional staff. Post them on your website or include them with a bid. If you're downsizing, offering outgoing employees free resume preparation service is a considerate gesture. I need to gather basic information, usually over the phone, and that usually takes 20-50 minutes. $100 does it for 95% of my clients; complex backgrounds or unusual challenges may require more. A round or two of revisions is no problem. I email the resume to you in doc format, and will be happy to convert it to pdf at no extra charge.

Bio $150
Bios are a great way to establish your credibility. More flexible and more friendly than a resume, bios are a must for many websites, business plans, marketing and investment packages, extended brochures. A key person may want more than one bio, each slanted to a particular target audience. Working from an interview (usually phone) and/or source materials, I will draft your bio and then email it to you in text, doc or pdf format. Revisions are no problem. $150 unless there are very unusual circumstances – I will tell you early in the process if I need to charge more so you can make a go – no go decision.

Speech writing $500 and up
As an award winning public speaker, I know how to capture and hold attention. I'll write and revise your speech based on phone interview and/or source material and email it to you in doc format. Revisions are no problem. If you live nearby (Dane County, Wisconsin) or can send me a video, I'll even listen to your deliver it and give you some coaching on your technique.

General writing $75 per hour discounted for longer projects
I've written all sorts of letters, articles, chapters, web pages and advertising for a wide range of clients. I've even paraphrased chapters of the Bible and I write a daily devotional that goes out to subscribers in 40 nations. For some clients, hiring me by the hour is the simplest and most flexible arrangement for both of us. If you use my services for more than 10 hours per month, I charge $60 per hour if you start with a $600 down payment.

Software consulting $75 per hour
I am well at home with several free / open-source software packages like OpenOffice.org, The GIMP, AVG Anti-virus, Advanced WindowsCare Personal and others that can potentially save your business or ministry $100s, even $1000s. While I'm not a computer expert, I can usually install, troubleshoot and train in these packages.

Book or manual $6,000 and up
A book is often the best way to reposition yourself ahead of your competitors. Imagine giving your clients a book authored by you (ghostwritten by me) that establishes your expertise in your field. This is the secret that a few real estate professionals used to break into the celebrity market. A book can convey your story, your message with depth that no other instrument can. I'm the author/coauthor of four published books. I specialize in personal experience Christian narratives, but I'm at home with any format. I understand what it takes to create a nonfiction book and I can get it done for you. Expect to spend many hours in interviews unless you can supply source material I can use (e.g., your recorded speeches, seminars, notes, drafts). We can set this up by the hour or by the project. Making your project affordable
I share your desire to make your project affordable. Remember, I custom design websites for people. That means your project is different than anyone else's. I will need to spend some time with you gathering enough information to develop an intelligent proposal. My approach is no pressure, no hassle. Or, if you'd like, tell me your budget and your wish list and I can let you know how close I can come to what you want. You might be surprised!
I do put together different payment options to make your project affordable. I do take credit cards (PayPal) and I will consider installment payments in many circumstances.
What goes into the price?
The web design projects I've done in the past have ranged from $400 to $4000. Building a custom designed website takes time, particularly if there's a great deal of content. It takes time to listen to you, work out a design and navigation plan, put together all the elements needed, work with images, write the content, code the css and html. Like anybody else who is self employed, operating a business involves many, many hours of nonbillable time. Add to that business expenses, benefits, other expenses and a family of six to support and you understand why I can't work for $10 or $20 per hour.
