Web4us2.com Custom Website Design
>>

I started with this:

I redesigned the site to spotlight the content, since that was the focus. I researched the best size of type to use, the correct margins, line spacing, line length and so on so the content would be highly readable, particularly by those who need easy-to-read displays. I also laid out the page in such a way as to not distract from the content. Some sites are very busy - they look like Times Square. That was not the look we wanted for this site.
New logo and appearance design
I designed a logo and tagline that captured main essense of the ministry. I set up a color scheme for the site consistent with the logo.
Solving navigation challenges
Navigation was a major issue here. I solved it by creating a main index across the top, and then subindexes further down on the page - easy to access, but never in the way of the content.
Here's the design I settled on:

Visit the site here.
Since the ministry is supported by donations, I set up an online (PayPal) and offline donation system, easily accessible from any page on the site.
I added other features desired by the ministry. I also prominently displayed user comments - in ministry terms, "testimonies" - in marketing terms, "testimonials." I made that another prominent feature of the site, but, again, subordinate to the content.
I created a contact form for the site.
I tested the site in all five major browsers.
Here's an easy way to get in touch with me to start telling me about the project you have in mind.

Website Makeover: Dwight Clough Ministries, Inc.
My wife and I direct a 501(c)3 nonprofit ministry. This ministry needed a site that could easily accommodate over a thousand pages of content. We looked around for a suitable development company to handle that project for us, and didn't find anything that would meet our needs and/or our budget. So I decided to tackle the project myself.I started with this:

I redesigned the site to spotlight the content, since that was the focus. I researched the best size of type to use, the correct margins, line spacing, line length and so on so the content would be highly readable, particularly by those who need easy-to-read displays.
